I recently did this adoption lifestyle session. It was so fun! When Evie contacted me about doing these photos I knew immediately that it was something that I wanted to do! They wanted some photos of their precious girl at home with them (finally)! She also mentioned how important it was to get these pictures of her since it was the last week before she had her lip surgery. There is no question that this beautiful girl is SO very loved! I asked Evie to share a little bit with me about their adoption process and this is what she sent me (with permission to share, of course). I hope you enjoy it! "God spoke to my heart and I knew we had a daughter in China. The waiting, almost two years, was long and slow and painful. Some days I dreamed of a bright future and other days I wept the unknown that my child might be experiencing. I learned to lean hard on Christ and he gave me strength for the next day. The day I received a call that our agency had a match for us was blissful. My husband and I knew she was ours. She was 9 months old and had the loveliest smile. Her eyes shined bright. She was ours and we were her forever family. We traveled to China in November of 2015 with our two boys to bring her home. The first time she was put in my arms, I breathed deeply with the realization she had filled the missing piece to my heart. She made her father's eyes glisten with joy. Her brothers gained a long awaited sister and she gained a set of brothers who will forever be her allies. Her Chinese name means lucky or blessed. But I know the truth: we are the lucky ones."
